About Anthony Viscounte
"My job is to help my students grow as musicians & individuals, and have lots of fun doing so.  It is a privilege to be able to help others discover the power and beauty of music."
Anthony Viscounte started playing the snare drum at the age of eight at Simmons Elementary School. By the time he reached the sixth grade, he had moved on to playing the full drum set, studying with a close family friend, Ian Ambron. Anthony went on to teach himself guitar, piano and electric bass, and started the classic rock trio Icy Tee upon entering Hatboro Horsham High School. The band, fronted by Anthony as the singer and bassist, played their first show at HH's Sadie Hawkins Halloween Battle of the Bands. It was after this show when Anthony began engulfing himself in music and songwriting.
While writing songs and singing/playing the guitar and piano, Anthony continued his formal drums and percussion education with one of Philadelphia's top drummers, Sean Kennedy. Sean began asking him to sit in on professional gigs, and invited him to record on his album "Queen Anne's Revenge," featuring Liberty DeVitto. Anthony and Sean released an album of Anthony's original songs shortly after.
Sean helped Anthony prepare to audition for the Philadelphia Sinfonia in 2006. It was with this group where Anthony began devoting his musical life to orchestral percussion. Between touring with the Sinfonia as well as a run with the Strauss Symphony of America, Anthony had the opportunity to frequent some of the world's most fantastic venues; including the Kennedy Center, Kimmel Center, Lincoln Center, and numerous theatres in Europe and South America, including Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the St. Juda Cathedral in Prague.
In 2007 Anthony began studying orchestral percussion at West Chester University. As a freshmen, he aquired endorsement deals with Pro-Mark Drumsticks as well as VaughnCraft Percussion, and earned the role of principal timpanist with the senior orchestra. Throughout this time, Anthony contiuned to write songs and sing, and came to a realization that this was his true passion.
In 2009, he received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, to study voice and piano. In 2011, Anthony wrote, arranged,  recorded and produced an album of his original music, backed by a 16-piece folk orchestra. The group was comprised of his Berklee classmates; many of whom he still collaborates with today.
After graduating from Berklee in 2012, Anthony earned an endorsement deal with Casio Keyboards. He was then hired to write five vocal textbooks on sight singing, vocal technique, and music theory for Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music. The first two books from this series are also required reading at Berklee College of Music, which was a great thrill and honor for Anthony.
Shortly after this, Anthony began teaching private music lessons to students in the Greater Philadelphia area. It quickly became his true passion, and he is thrilled to have just opened up his new studio in Horsham where he now teaches music lessons full time.
